From Muffin Corner;
The nearest mailine station to Oxenhope is Keighley (6 miles to the north). From here, either take a taxi or walk the 1/2 mile to the centre of town and catch a bus from the bus station or, if running, take a steam train on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway (weekends and daily during school holidays).
Oxenhope is served by buses mainly from Keighley (No663 No720). Services from here go to Bradford, Skipton, etc. There is a service from Hebden Bridge (No500), but not directly from Halifax (consider train to Bradford and bus from the Bradford Interchange).
National Express run two services a day to London from Keighley Bus Station.
From the Bradford;
- Leave the city heading west following signs for Thornton. Continue for approx. 6 miles on the Thornton road (A6144), through the village of Thorton, over a set of traffic lights to a T-junction (approx 1 mile the other side of Thornton).
- Turn right at the next traffic lights towards Keighley (A629) - Note that you can only turn left or right here!)
- After approx. 1 miles and before the village of Denholme, turn left signposted Oxenhope (B6144)
- Continue for approx 2 miles into Oxenhope [Top]
From Skipton and North Yorkshire;
- Follow signs to Keighley and Bradford on the A650
- Go into Keighley, then follow the directions below [Top]
From Keighley;
- Follow signs to Halifax (A629)
- 2 miles after leaving Keighley, in the village of Crossroads, turn right at the roundabout signposted Haworth and Hebden Bridge.
- After 1/2 mile, turn left signposted Hebden Bridge and Oxenhope
- Travel further 2 miles to Oxenhope [Top]
From Lancashire;
- From the M65 (Blackburn to Colne motorway), follow signs to Skipton, bypassing Colne town centre
- On leaving Colne, proceed 1 mile towards Skipton and enter the small village of Laneshawbridge. Turn right signposted Haworth.
* N.B. This leads to a narrow moorland road with difficult passing in places. During poor weather conditions or if driving a large vehicle, it is recommended that you continue through Laneshawbridge on the main road, eventually picking up signs to Keighley and following the directions above.
- Continue from the turn off at Laneshawbridge for 6 miles, eventually heading through the village of Stanbury.
- Just after Stanbury, turn right signposted Oxenhope.
- On entering Oxenhope, at the T-junction turn left to reach the centre. If visiting St. Mary the Virgin Church, turn right. [Top]
From Huddersfield / M62 West
- Head through Halifax (from M62 J24) on the A629.
- From Halifax, follow the signs to Keighley (A629)
- After 6 miles and just before the village of Denholme, turn left signposted Oxenhope
- Continue for approx 2 miles into Oxenhope. [Top]
From M1
- Turn west off the M1/J42 on to the M62 heading for Bradford,
- Turn north off the M62/J26 (M606 junction). At the roundabout, take the A58 towards Halifax.
- At the second set of traffic lights (approx 3 miles from motorway), head north towards Keighley on the A644.
- Continue towards Keighley - Go over a set of traffic lights, a roundabout and a further set of lights, at the third set of lights, turn left.
- After half a mile, turn right at traffic lights on to the A629 (still towards Keighley).
- After about one mile and just before the village of Denholme, turn left signposted Oxenhope
- Continue for approx 2 miles into Oxenhope village. [Top]
From Hebden Bridge
- Head as signposted towards Haworth and Keighley.
- Proceed over the moorland for about 6 miles, you will then descend into Oxenhope village
- St. Mary's Church is on your left as you enter the village, the Community Centre is shortly afterwards (take the next left after the church into Shaw Lane, then immediately right into the driveway to the Centre)
- Proceed another half mile to the centre of the village. [Top]
